Changing the views layout with custom HTML tags

Hi all,

I'm developing a new WebDynpro application, i want to add my custom HTML code to the layout of a view, i don't want to use the UI elements provided by Netweaver. Is it possible to design the layout with you own HTML ?. One more question ..why is that i don't see any source in the browser when i go to view-->source from the browser when the page is rendered ?.

thanks in advance.

Rajinikanth Pattabiraman.

As far as I know it is currently impossible to add custom tag to the WD layout, and I don't think it would be possible in the future.

Regarding your second question: the page is rendered on the client by Java Script framework at run time so what you see as a source is code to run by this framework.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Rajinikanth,

if you want to use HTML you have to write servlet/JSP applications that run perfectly on the SAP Web AS or iViews using the PDK if your planing to write portal applications.

It´s a feature of Web Dynpro to hide all this HTML and CSS stuff from the developer.

If you want to see HTML code in the code view of your browser you have to switch to SSR (server side rendering). In that case the pages are rendered on server side which also doesn´t give you the possibility to enclose your own HTML code.

By the way, when using Web Dynpro rendering (formerly known a SSR), you will only see the HTML of the first page when using the browsers "View source".
