Red X in the query results.. what's the cause?

Hi all,

Does anyone know what causes a Red "X" to appear in the query results? I get this sometimes and don't know if it is a BW bug or if there is actually a reason for it.

Hi,

a red X usually appears, when the olap processor can't calculate the value in the cell. There are many reasons for it:

for example using a formula variable with replacement from an attribute in a formula and the characteristic is not specified in this cell.

Try to use the explain function. You can do this in web with the explain keyfigure option (in the enhanced contextmenu). there you might get a hint what is wrong.

Is the explain function also somewhere in the BEx Analyzer? It sounds like quite a useful option. We are using BW 3.0b.
