Hello,
Has anyone implemented outlook into EP6, other than using the web access to outlook? In EP5 there was a communication business package that gave access to outlook emails. But from what I understand, this business package is not going to be ported to EP6.
So if anyone does have EP6 connecting to Outlook, could you point me to some documents or give me some advice on how I can get started on this type of iview.
thanks,
Keith
Keith, we found that users did not value limited Groupware capabilities as much as having the full functionality. While most web interfaces are not complete, they represent a sufficient set to satisfy most users. Thus, we are using iNotes, the web UI for our groupware.
My advice is to implement the web UI rather than a limited piece of functionality or trying to recreate it.
Keith -
SAP does not support the Business Package for Communication in EP 6.0. Instead, groupware integration is handled via transports and is primarily used for collaboration functions such as scheduling meetings / webex meetings across calendars.
OWA is one approach for integrating Outlook functionality for EP 6.0. Also, the Active X control can be used if the thick client is present on user machines.

Kyle
Hello Keith,
I am new in Portal, and recently I succesfully installed EP6 with KM, and now I'm trying to integrate Portal with Exchange, without using Outlook Web Access.
I found some tips in documentation, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ep60sp2/helpdata/en/36/eacfb72888e04eaf523f7236c0892f/content.htm
But, when i Try to reach the last mentioned menu, I cant, because does not exist.
Hope this help, and please, if you can do the configuration mentioned in the docs, please, let me know.
regards.
Patricio
Hi Keith,
We are going to use the Outlook Web Access (OWA) to integrate Outlook in the Portal. We are on Outlook 2000 which is not all that impressive but we will be upgrading to Outlook 2003 soon and the web interface is as good as the client interface.
It is extremely difficult to tell the two apart.
Regards
Paul
