difference between "Resource" and "work center"

I want to know the basic difference between "Resource" and "work center" These are used in creation of master recipe of some material.

Dear Resource or workcenter is an organizational unit that defines where and when an operation must be performed

Workcenter is used in Routing creation in Descrete and Repetetive manufacturing industry where as resource is used in master recipe creation in process manufacturing.

Thanks for your valuable information.

Still one more question.

In our company we map recipe in which QM and PP both are involve Which are diffrentiated with two different types of resources. But when i am checking the same code of resource in CR01 it shows the same thing which is created using CRC1.

Still I am not clear. Can you please give me some basic example to understand the difference between the two?

Hii,

Resource & Workcenter are relatively same. Resource are assigned to work center category 008 (Processing unit). This is inturn assigned to the Task list type 2 (Master Receipe). Work center (CR01) not deifned for work center ct 008 , bt defined for other catg. Functionality both are same.

If there no activity type assigned to work center, then there is no need to define work center to QM part. Just define QM control key (QM 01/QM04) wherever u perform QM fucntionality & activity Inspection req for PP Control Key (PP01/PP02).

Now i am clear between both of them. So i will create the resource using CRC1 and assign. Moreover we are performing result recording in QM so its resource also needs to be created.
