Import IDOCS/RFC form SAP

Hi,

I'm trying to import some idocs from an SAP that is not balanced system, I don't know how can I put the data for a standalone system. When I'm going to import the idocs I see 2 option load balaned system, or direct system, but direct system is always disabled...

Is there any trick to do that ?

I'm using XI 2.0

Thanks in advance.

Xavi.

    Hi!

Are you talking about the IDoc import into the Integration Repository? If you have no load balanced system fill out the connection data like this:

    System: <SID>

    Message Server: <Message Server>

    Group: SPACE

    Client: <Client>

      Hi,

I have achive to import idocs from my XI server, using SPACE...

But when I try to import from another system I'm getting the next error:

Unable to construct connection to system RT7 (client=800)

      t com.sap.aii.upload.sap.SAPConnection.connect(SAPConnection.java:72)

      at com.sap.aii.upload.sap.SAPConnection.<init>(SAPConnection.java:35)

      at com.sap.aii.upload.sap.SAPUploadSource.<init>(SAPUploadSource.java:139)

      etc...

The problem is maybe that the other system dosen't has an XI addon, but it sould works also...

I have defined in the SLD a technical system and a business system. I have configured the RFC adapter...

What are exactly the prerequisits to import idocs/rfc from a sap system ?

Thanks in avance and best regards.

      Xavi

    Hi Xavier,

Make sure you have the following entry in the 'etc/services' file of the XI server (in case of Windows, the file is located in : C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\services)

    sapms<SID> 3600/tcp

where <SID> in your case is 'RT7'.

    Hi all!

I have the same problem. I inserted the entry (sapmsBA8 3608/tcp) into the etc/service file but I'm still not able to connect to the R/3 system. I always get following message:

Unable to establish connection to R/3 system BA8 (client=000)

Then some troubleshooting tipps appear that I've all checked out.

I don't know what to do? What exactly do I have to configure on the R/3 system?

Has anybody an idea where the mistake could be?

    Thanks,

    Martin.

      Thanks everyone!

The import finally works, it seems that we also had some problems resolving the message server hostname. What I did:

      1) Check the etc/services, verify that the correct entries were actually there.

      2) Change the message server entry in the Integration Builder (Design), replace the message server name for the IP address of the machine hosting the message server.

      Regards,

      Rob.
