Checking Availability across the plants

Hi Gurus,

I need to configure for cross plant availability check by the SAP. even though stock is available but SAP does not check this while generating requirement. Excess requirement gets generated into MRP, therefore we can not relies on the MRP result, requirement also gets generated for Slow material against demand while we have excess stock.

Please provide your suggestion solution for this.

SAP R/3 systm will not perom availablity check accross all the plant .You have to go for SAP SCM-APO-SNP/PPDS .

I had the same scinario where I ahve developed a report though ABAPer .It may not be applicable in your case .Other wise i can send you the field mapping .

Sorry if I am responding to a very old thread.

I have a similar kind of requirement where we would like to do a Planned Order Component ATP check across Plants.

Say for example I have a Plant A, I use MDVP to a collective availability check for all the Planned Orders in Plant A. I then get the list of component shortages specific to Plant A. But we would like to have the functionality of looking for components missing in Plant A to see if they are available at other Plants, all being done under one transaction in the form of a report which the user can later use to do an STO or a Movement Type 301/302 to move the components to Plant A where it is in shortage.

Could someone please provide me with any solution that you might have.

Dear Atul,

In R/3 system will not check the stock across the plants in Net. req calculcation ( MRP ) as per std SAP

MRP will run at plant level

In APO it is possible

Hi Madhu,

That is fine , But If any sort of report is there to look in to it for the stocks available.

Plants here are Warehouses created as virtual plants.

To my understanding DRP should work for your requirement but i cannot provide any inputs on DRP

I think already Mr. JH has replied and said he worked on same requirement so he may provide you details

Atul,

Try MD48. It can display, among other things, the ATP quantity and the cumulated ATP qty for all plants for a material. This may be enough to get you by.

There is a pretty broad range of possiblities for configuring the display to meet your needs.
