GTS-Import and export scenarios

Former Member

Hello,

We are based in France and have SAP GTS already installed. Our exports from France to a customer in sweden becomes imports for sweden. My questions are :-

a) I think we while exporting from France, we have to follow French export regulation and we also have to follwo sweden import regulations toos (since our exports becomes swedens imports ).............Is my line of thinking correct ?

b) If my above first point is correct, then how does SAP GTS for our country (France), takes the import regulation of the sweden country (for our exports from france to sweden ?)..... Iam asking this, since for exports from France , GTS will take into account legal regulation of France only. But I think GTS also needs to take the legal regulation of sweden into account (our exports becoming sweden imports ) ???

Hi Pamela,

France and Sweden are both EU members. When you move goods from France to Sweden, you actually stay in the same customs territory, hence there is no export / import but an intra-community transaction. So Iu2019m not sure whether your questions really refers to customs or perhaps to compliance and/or intrastat ?

If your question still relates to customs, please note that what you ask for is basically possible and has been in fact already implemented with GTS: with some development, we actually u2018mirroru2019 an export declaration (from the departure country) into an import declaration (in the destination country). Obviously, beside the pure GTS aspects, there are other things to be clarified (Incoterms, transits, clearance locations, fiscal rep., etc.). If you want to go deeper into this, donu2019t hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
