Implementing/converting java web-application to a portal java-iview

Hi,

I wondered if there are any examples, or best practices, describing the process of converting an existing java web-application to a par-file project using Eclipse.

In our case we have a web-application developed with Codecharge using java and jsp, running on a web-server. We wish to "move" the application onto our EP6 portal, hopefully without having to rewrite the application from scratch.

Our effort so far have only resulted in ClassCastExeptions when trying to run the application as a java-iview on the portal, so any help is really apreciated

Hello Jarle,

you are on the wrong way. You must not convert your programm to a par File. When you only want to see the GUI of your Programm in the Portal you can make it with the URL Master iView (and leave the programm as it is). You can also run your Programm on the SAP J2EE Engine, so you didnt need two J2EE-Servers. When your programm is role based and you want to use the Enterprise Portal Usermanagement you must change your code of course.

I think there is no need to write your programm new from the scratch :-).

Best regards,

Patrick
