how to activate open item management to GL account.

HI Experts,

In my company code one GL Account is already exists and it is not having Open item management activated as well as GL account is having 350000 USD balance in that.

Now i want to activate open item management for that account, Could you please show me the process and programmes involved in activating Open item management to existing GL account.

Hi,

Run the program RFSEPA02 for this

Solution:

1. Make the GL A/c balance as Zero by posting a journal entry

2. Tick the OIM box and save the GL master

3. Execute the standard program RFSEPA02

4. Reverse the entry posted in the first step

If u r using version ECC6 and have enhancement pack 3 installed then you can use FAGL_ACTIVATE_OP as indicated by one of the other responders but you dont have to 'have new GL turned on to do this

IF the GL accounts contains archived items too we can make Account as Open Item Managed with the steps you indicated.

If you are in ECC with Doc Splitting, SAP Recommend that, once doc posted with non open item selection GL A/c,

SAP Provided Information:

(Create a new account with the correct account assignment. Post your

items to the new account. If you want to use the original account number, you must bring the account balance to zero, change the account assignment, and repost the items. You can remove the old items by

archiving the documents.)

1 u2013 Create New GL A/C with same activity with open item check box.

2 u2013 Transfer Balances from Old GL A/c to New GL A/c.

3 u2013 Block Old GL Account.

If you are in up to 4.7

1- Make it Zero this GL Balance

2- Block for posting GL A/C

3- Select Open Item Mngt Check Box

4- Run Program in, T.Code SE38, Program :RFSEPA02

5- Remove Block Indicator for this GL

Hi,

Whatever mentioned by you is correct.

But there is another solution available.

1) Block Posting to the Account.

2) Take help of Abaper - Copy the program RFSEPA02 and make it ZRFSEPA02. As the the standard program can not be executed as it is. With the help of abaper, remove the message which is not allowing to execute the program.

3) Now after creation of Z program - remove the Posting block indicator.

4) Run the program after inputting the GL a/c required.

5) It will activate opn item management for all the existing items in that GL A/c.

You can do this process , as of now I have not found any problem with this approach even if there are lot of items in the GL account.

Hi,

Balance in GL account has to be zero. Then you can manage it on open item basis.
