Hi kalees,

Check your backup device type in init<SID>.sap whether you have given right or not. Also check below threads -

i changed path.

tape_address_rew = /dev/rmt1

tape_address = /dev/rmt0.1

next i changed

tape_address_rew = /dev/rmt0

tape_address = /dev/rmt0.1

next i changed

tape_address_rew = /dev/rmt1

tape_address = /dev/rmt1.1

OS AIX 5.3 Data base oracle

stil same error

kindly suggest me

Hi Sen,

I run two commands, i found below message

  1. tctl -f /dev/rmt/0m status

lsattr: 0514-519 The following device was not found in the customized

device configuration database:

0m

  1. tctl -f /dev/rmt/0mn status

lsattr: 0514-519 The following device was not found in the customized

device configuration database:

0mn

kindly suggest me

You should be having a backup log file with extension .aft or similar in the backup dump. Please check the device name specified over there.

You sure that the tape drive is configured correctly and mounted on /dev/rmt1

The error was resoled,

we are not properly configured tape drive.

we are deleted tape drive in os level, again we configured rmt0.

Now it's working fine
