Time Issue

Hi Friends,

My component is FICO based and for a Process it should call no of classes, for a large data. Approximately its taking 1-2 hrs. We have set our portal Screen Expiration time as 5-15 Min. I need to keep the Session available till the process complete. Now we decided to run the process in background and keep on checking for completion of process and then we gonna show up the data. If you have any Idea to proceed this method or anyother ideas please convey.
