Wildcard question

Good Evening,

I have written a report which involves material #. I need the report to display only material numbers that start with '1Y'. I know the wildcard functionality should resolved my problem but after hours of research and attempts I am unable to do this. I have tried 'match pattern' function on the query side and using % and * within report filters...no I can get to work. Can anyone help me?
