I need to do automatic configuration for equipments when I create assets.
I use asset class 2000 to create vehicles.
So is it through asset class an asset talks to equipment?
Hello
You can configue it via
IMG
-> Financial Accounting
-> Asset Accounting
-> Master Data
-> Automatic Creation of Equipment Master Records
Specify Conditions for Synchronization of Master Data
for the asset class 2000.

Jane

Hi Jane,
I followed your steps and this is how I customized the automation.
Equipment category : M(machines)
Object Type : 2113(which is vehicles)
Edit asset master record
Create equipment: Direct Synchronization after saving
Change equipment: Direct synchronization after saving
Edit Equipment master record
Create asset: No synchronization
Change asset: No synchronization
And then I saved it
Then I created an asset using asset class 2000 and capitalized that asset using FB50.
But when go to IE02 and try to look for the equipments I cannot see any equipments created for the above asset.
Have I missed any steps?
Thank you,
Raneetha

Yes in IMG under master data in AA you can synchronize the asset creation to equipment based on equipment category and equipment class (object type)
