How can I enter a number of capacities higher than 255?

Hi, I need to enter 400 as the number of the capacities required of the capacity category to carry out an operation in a network.

The system displays an error message "The entry value is too large (max. 255) Message no. 00059

How can I handle this situation?

In the project, 400 people are needed for the internal activity Masonary Wall & Plastering.

The capacity category for the work center is 002 (Person), the base Unit of Measurement for Capacity is H and the work is been calculated by the system using calculation key 2.

255 is SAP standard max. limit.

To satisfy the extended requirements you can make use of other features.

- define a parallel activity & again maintain the rest number of capacities (for example 400-255 = 145)

OR

- Make use of Execution factor field (directly below the number of capacities field in activity detail screen)

Hi ..!

I suggested the end user to define 1 paralel activity; however, as the duration is 678 days and the number of capacities is 200. An error system says "Work cannot be converted into desired unit" I suggested to change the unit from HR to DAY.

In this case, confirmations can be made in HR?

Is it not possible to change the 255 max limit in SAP? Is there any explanationfor this limitation?

They were using Primavera an now SAP PS is been used in a big construction project (7000 units). Masonary Wall & Plastering activity is shared with subcontractor. The activity needs more tham 400 people so it was also set as external processing.

You should split the activities into two or more and connect the activities in series instead of parallel. Split the overall duration (678 days) and capacities between these activities. check this solution with your user.
