Hello can anyone tell me in plain words why do we need to create Message Type when we can define the schema of the message as a Data Type.
It is like creating data element over domain in R/3.
It just provides a business abstraction.

Pradeep,
The message type acts as an abstraction layer. This enables you to modify the underlying data type without having to change to much in the interface.
