Forecasting in APO DP

Hi Experts

We have nearly 50000 Products for our client where there would be enormous increase in CVC's(Expected nearly 2-3 lakhs CVC's) . Is it suitable to implement APO DP for forecasting?

As per my experience we had nearly 60000 CVC's for my previous customer, where we had many problems with regard to the performance in APO DP & live cache.

please Kindly give your advice on my concern.

regards

Vicky

Hi,

I have worked with more than 1.5 lakhs of CVC and the same will create few problems coz of live cache memory and runtime. But I think since we can (With discussion ) increase the live cache within a limit and that can improve performence.Ther are lot of companies running in more than 2 lakh CVCs.

Hi,

I wanted to say that you can improve the memory of the LC for the purpose of improving the perfomance. But always the momory incremnt is not directly proprtional to the performence. So please discuss the same with your basis team but it is sure that you can work with more than 2-3 lakhs CVCs.

Hope this will help.

Hi Vicky,

There is a SAP online tool (Quick Sizer) to find the system requirements for APO DP based on number of CVC (MPOS) and planning areas.

Please log on to service.sap.com/quicksizing with your client OSS notes ID and create a new project with all inputs and Quick Sizer gives the results -> requirements for CPU , memory, disk space etc.

You can find beginers guide on how to use online tool.

Along with basis team you can check existing requirements of system or needs to be enhanced.

Hi Vicky,

There is no problem on extending CVC's to 2 lacks also, I have worked with more than 10 lakhs CVC's.

If any process isuue, you can dicuss with Basis team for increasing your livecache memory.

Hi,

With suitable LiveCache sizing, such large number of CVCs can be handled. Also look into option of reduction in number of charectiristics, use only the required one and convert others into navigational attribute. This will reduce number of cvcs.

Also, consider creating separate planning area or MPOS (say, business division wise) so that CVCs are equally split.

Thanks,

Chan
