Again : installation EP 6.0 (Win 2K, Oracle 9.2.0.4)

I try seccond time installation of EP 6.0. In the last step "Installation of SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 (post proccessing)" the installation checks the J2EE connection again and again. It takes hours :(.

In the Saapinst folder the installation writes every two minutes a file test_localhost_. Server started: false. Only in two files is a successfull connection message.

Nothing else happens. Is this normal in the installation process ? I had the same yesterday in my first try of installing the EP 6.0. Can I interrupt this process ?

The error files in ..clustermanagersconsole_logs doesn't contain any content.

Hello Jörg,

It seems to happen on from time to time on the Windows Platform.

First make sure that there is NO CPU activity.

Second, make sure that no Dispatcher or Server (J2EE) is running.

Third, start the Dispatcher manually (Dispatcher will start the server automatically).

This will take between 2 and 15 minutes.

Then the installation should continue.

Hi Marc,

I tried this after checking CPU activity (no), the server (J2EE) is not running and I closed the dispatcher cmd window. Then I started the Dispatcher again. It loads some core services and additional services and after a few secconds I got the message: SAP J2EE engine Version 6.2 Patchlevel 63717.20 is running.

But the SAPinst loops again with this strange J2EE connection check without success (same like before).

A new log error file without content is written, thats all :-(.
