Using SWT in AWT application model?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to develop an AWT ME Application, but using SWT widgets? I suspect that it is not possible, because you have to implement AwtApplication and are therefore forced to return a java.awt.Panel in the method getRootPanel().

Maybe you can prove me wrong; please confirm or deny my suspicion.

Thanks,

Martin

For those of you interested, I have feedback from a SAP Developer who gives a statement from SAP MI regarding the use of SWT:

"An application cannot use SWT instead of AWT. There have been evaluations and prototypes and the easiest way to work around this limitation is to implement an AwtApplication which itself in parallel implements an SWT UI."

Just to clarify, I mean of course using the SWT libraries and dll provided by Eclipse.
