Hi,

I've tried installing NWAS702 ABAP Trial but failed with error.

Download location: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/80db43c2-9ee5-2d10-de8e-8547de363868

System:

Windows XP Professional

4GB RAM

JRE 1.5.0_22

At the time of Execute Step (Step 4), it stops at Import ABAP Process showing the following message:

An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :Program 'Migration Monitor' exits with error code 2. For details see log file(s) import_monitor.java.log, import_monitor.log.). You can now:

Choose Retry to repeat the current step.

Choose View Log to get more information about the error.

Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to C:Program Files/sapinst_instdir/NW702/AS-ABAP/ADA/CENTRAL/.

And here is the import_monitor.java.log content:

java version "1.5.0_22"

Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_22-b03)

Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_22-b03, mixed mode)

Required system resources are missing or not available:

Import directory 'C:SoftwareSAPNetWeaver AS ABAP 7.02 SP6NWASABAPTRIAL70206SAP_NetWeaver_702e_ExportDATA_UNITSEXP2' does not have valid structure of subdirectories;

Import directory 'C:SoftwareSAPNetWeaver AS ABAP 7.02 SP6NWASABAPTRIAL70206SAP_NetWeaver_702e_ExportDATA_UNITSEXP3' does not have valid structure of subdirectories.

Please let me know how to rectify this issue.

Thanks,

-Haresh

Hi,

I had also faced the similar issue and spent 3 -4 days. Finally, i download another file from link and ABAP import has finally started...

There are 4 files available and one may get confuse which one to pickup. The #3 file (size  3.552.153.445 bytes) is correct one and should worked. I didn't try 4th one. Probably will do it later.

1. SAP NetWeaver ABAP Trial 7.02 SP11 Win 64 bit Version (3.365.652.355 bytes)

2. SAP NetWeaver ABAP Trial 7.02 SP11 Win 64 bit Version with Gateway 2.0 SP03 (3.541.357.586 bytes) old

3. SAP NetWeaver ABAP Trial 7.02 SP11 Win 64 bit Version with Gateway 2.0 SP04 (3.552.153.445 bytes) new

4. SAP NetWeaver ABAP Trial 7.02 SP11 Win 64 bit Version, 3.387 GB (3.552.379.445 bytes)

Java 1.4.2 is 32 bit & JRE 1.5.22 is available for 32bit & 64bit. Both are outdated however should work for Netweaver installation. I have used JRE 1.5.22 and it is working fine.

Haresh's solution worked for me. Creating those empty DATA directories let the installation continue. It appears that a typical ZIP program (I've used TugZip) does not extract these empty directories with the default settings.

Thanks and regards,

Matt

the same size of downloded 2nd part

NWASABAPTRIAL70206.part2.rar has 1 837 289 009 bytes

instead of 1.838.392.707 bytes

OK. Thanks for the info.

So let's assume that the file size on the site was just a typo mistake from SAP.

But i still have the same error as described in the first post ( Haresh Khandal ) of this thread.

I even tried to install it on WIN XP SP2 and not SP3, still the same error on the same step of install.

Did anyone solve this?

Thanks in advance

Hi All,

I've got the solution.

I was getting following log:

java version "1.5.0_22"

Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_22-b03)

Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_22-b03, mixed mode)

Required system resources are missing or not available:

Import directory 'C:\Software\SAP\NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.02 SP6\NWASABAPTRIAL70206\SAP_NetWeaver_702e_Export\DATA_UNITS\EXP2' does not have valid structure of subdirectories;

Import directory 'C:\Software\SAP\NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.02 SP6\NWASABAPTRIAL70206\SAP_NetWeaver_702e_Export\DATA_UNITS\EXP3' does not have valid structure of subdirectories.

So i've opened the .rar file in WINZIP and locate these directories, which lead me to have blank directories DATA under EXP2 and EXP3.

So upon creation of these directy installation proceed further and completed without any errors...

Cheers!!!

Hope this will help you all.

Thanks,

-Haresh Khandal

I don't quite understand what you did to solve the problem.

My error is below:

java version "1.5.0_22"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_22-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_22-b03, mixed mode)
Required system resources are missing or not available:
  Import directory '\\server\NWASABAPTRIAL70206\SAP_NetWeaver_702e_Export\DATA_UNITS\EXP1' does not exist;
  Import directory '\\server\NWASABAPTRIAL70206\SAP_NetWeaver_702e_Export\DATA_UNITS\EXP2' does not exist;
Import directory '\\server\NWASABAPTRIAL70206\SAP_NetWeaver_702e_Export\DATA_UNITS\EXP3' does not exist.

All of the above directories exist, so it's strange that i get these errors.

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

How did you manage to solve this issue with the network drive? Did you copy the media to local disk or could figure out any other way to use network location? Thanks.!

SAP installation will not work with jre 1.5

You will need java 1.4.2.XX

Please download appropriate version and set the JAVA_HOME environment variable accordingly.

Let us know if it worked

I'll try with 1.4.2.XX, but in step 5 of installation, that is mentioned that I can use 1.5.0_22

5. If you start sapinst the first time, you will be logged off your operating system and afterwards prompted for the installation directory of JRE 1.4.latest or 1.5.0_22 (tested).

Do not use 1.6.x! The installation will start, but not finish.

If you have already installed, then pl let me know your JRE version.

I would suggest you to use 1.4 version . Cuse we use that version for all out installation always..

It never gives any kind of probelms..

Atleast you will be sure that issue is not cause of JRE version.

Same error here. I am using j2re-1_4_2_19. OS: Win XP SP3

I would appreciate your help.

>>Import directory 'C:\Software\SAP\NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.02 >>SP6\NWASABAPTRIAL70206\SAP_NetWeaver_702e_Export\DATA_UNITS\EXP3' does not have valid structure of >>subdirectories.

You have downloaded the files incompletely.

Verify your downloaded files are of correct size. If yes then try to unzip them again and run it from there.

If not download them again and make sure that size is shown on SDN.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. It seems that there is indeed a problem with the correct file size of "part 2 file".

The file size of "part 2 file" should be:

"SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.02 SP6 32-bit Trial Version Part 2 (1.838.392.707 bytes)".

But my file size is always only "1.837.289.009 bytes".

I have tried to download the file with 3 different browsers on two different computers.

My error is same as described in first post.

Hi,

Most probably looks like the download did not finish completely.

Or have you downloaded the software on another server and moved. That could have created the problem.
