    Hi Eric,

Which release are you using? On the SP03 CD, there are also a few versions of the install.

Firstly however, you need to decide whether to install the AWT or JSP version of the ME Client. In either case, I use the executable under the /comp directory; in other words, either

    \JSP\win32\comp or

    \AWT\win32\comp.

If you want to install both AWT and JSP versions simultaneously, there are instructions somewhere in the MDK documentation.

    Hope this helps,

    Martin

    Dear Neelan ,

Thanks for your reply, in fact I did partially solved my problem by installing locally SAP ME client using executable under /comp.

But it’s still impossible to use The SAP procedure, for installing SAP ME client component. In fact the URL link is working fine : http:// : /sap/bc/bsp/sap/me_fw_install/ install.htm

I do get the installation Wizard home page (it detect my operating system), but when selecting download of application, nothing append?

Have you got any idea to solve this problem?

    Best regards.

    Eric.

    Hi Eric,

The way I understand it, the install via http:// : /sap/bc/bsp/sap/me_fw_install/ install.htm is for when you want to install the ME client framework on an end-user device. (I assume you want to use it for development and testing, so installing the /comp version from the CD is fine).

Did you first upload a framework file via the "Upload Mobile Component" function in WebConsole? By default, it seems to me that there are no framework files loaded on the ME server side. (You can find some framework files on the CD, e.g. for WinCE/StrongArm etc.). Then, the end-user uses this URL to load the client framework on his device.

(If I am talking rubbish, will someone please correct me?)

    Hope it helps,

Martin (not Neelan - he is my boss and I am using his user ID 😊

    Hi Martin,

I don't think you speak rubbish because this is the way I understand it too (or maybe are we both speaking rubbish...).

Anyway I have also uploaded the executable file to the SAP Web Console but unfortunately the link http:// : /sap/bc/bsp/sap/me_fw_install/ install.htm

    is not working.

In fact I wonder if this problem is identical to another I get.

Actually when synchronizing my Me Client I get the link of the Mobile application to download but when selecting this link I get "HTTP 404 - file not found" and therefore I can't download the “.war” file of the mobile application.

(Have you got your link’s working properly?)

    Best regards.

    Eric.

The webconsole works as follows. There are specific mobile clients for the the different Operating systems ie Pocket PC and Win32

You can upload both to the webconsole. With your install URL the system will then automatically decide what the operating system is and allow you to install the ME. This is the same way you will deploy the JVM. In this case you will have 2 types the one for the ARM processor and then also one for the X-scale. You cannot deploy the JVM for the Win32 environment. This you have to install manually.
