WAS 6.40 and EP6.0

I am new to SAP WAS J2EE. I am trying to install EP6.0 on the SAP WAS 6.40. Is the PDK6.0(portal server) a different software which has to be installed before we can import the business packages available on iviewstudio website. or is it that the PDK comes built in into the new WAS 6.40. Any help regarding is appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Seems to a bit confusion here, and I don't blame you.

PDK6.0 is the Portal Development Kit, which is installed as any other business package on the portal (don't think it is included).

Generally speaking, if you are going to install SAP Enterprise Portal, you start the installer from the portal cd and it then continues to install both SAP J2EE (also called WAS) and the Enterprise Portal (which is a complex application on SAP J2EE).

Note that PDK is an portal application of SAP Enterprise portal, meaning it is the application of an application of the SAP J2EE.
