Hello,
does anybody know, if it's possible to use Lotus Notes as an e-mail client for SBO (mails send to and from SBO use Lotus Notes / Mails sent to and from SBO are available in Lotus Notes in- and outbox)?
Furthermore is it possible to integrate the release procedure of SBO into Lotus Notes in order to have the possibility, to release docs out of Notes without loggin on to SBO?
Anybody did something like this?
Thanks in advance,
Dierk Meissner
All,
I have just been advised by a partner here in Australia that they are writing a Lotus Notes - SBO interface to replicate some of the functionality in the Standard SBO - Outlook integration.
The partner is Ivan Kemp from Business to Business Technology in Melbourne. Their website is http://www.b2btech.com.au

I was in a project (outside SAP) some time before now that used - just like SBO - SMTP with Lotus Notes to send mails.
It worked smoothly, but unfortunately we did (due to a lack of time + experience) not find out how to make the mails available in Lotus Notes in- and outbox in a way that the complete address information was displayed.
The reason was not exactly clear because some issues came from the exact version of the mail client!
An integration - just like it is done with Outlook - is considered for future versions, but not yet planned, at least as far as I know.
The approval procedure is not yet exposed through DI API. There are considerations about that, but it is not yet clear, if and when this will be done.
Regards,
Frank

Hello Frank,
this is quite exactly, what I expected - I just didn't want to oversee something...
I (personally) can live with sending and receiving mails via SMTP /POP3 in SBO.
For a first step, I guess it's sufficient, if you're able to send e.g. quotations via mail to a customer.
The whole integration thing is a request by one of our customers, but I have to admit, that I can't see the real benefit - to get the whole info you have to start SBO anyway...
Regards,
Dierk
