Default the Number ranges based on Reason for Action

Hello,

Can anyone please let me know how to default the number ranges in Feature PE03 NUMKR based on Reason for Action (MASSG)?

I tried and it allows to do so in PE03 But in PA40, it doesn't work and I don't get the desired PERNR set up based on MASSG.

Please reply asap.

Hi,

The problem here using the standard structure PME01 for feature NUMKR. Apparently, PME01 does not get filled with the action reason value and no decision is performed.

Please change the structure to PME04. You can do this through PE03>Attributes>Change>Structure.

Now, you will also have the action type available for decision, if needed. You may want to then build the feature like MASSN>MASSG since there could be same reason codes under different actions.

That worked. I still have one question.

Changing the structure to PME04, does it have any consequences?

If not, do I need to change the structure for all other Features like IGMOD, ABKRS, LGMST to PME04?

Hi,

Changing NUMKR to PME04 will not have any impact. Also, you donu2019t have to change the other features unless you want to use a particular field for decision that is only available under PME04. In our system, IGMOD and ABKRS have always used PME04, while LGMST uses PME07. I believe these are standard delivered.
