thanks
Venkata
Hi Venkata,
There will be a lot of problems if you try to use the client of a 7.5 Nw version with a 7.0 NW version, because, the new version has a lot of new stuff that don't has the old version. The new version has a BPF that is also mange by the BPC client, and that the server cannot understand that segment of the client .. so you will find a lot of errant results. the only compatibility I have seen its with the SP08 and SP09, of the 7.0 version.
hope this helps,

My question is also on the same lines as Venkat :
1. I want to be able to test the BPC 7.5nw installed on Dev .. using a BPC 7.5nw client.
2. I want to support my BPC 7.0 nw users on Prod.
I know that if I install the 7.5 client I need to uninstall the 7.0 client. Hence using the 7.5nw Client will I be able to work on my prod environment which is on 7.0nw ? What are the possible issues I might have ?
The Client version and SPs are specific to the backend application server versions and SPs, you can not use an old version/sp against a new backend, and vice versa. It might work in some cases, but in most cases, you will see issues. I know this is frustration as we have to deal with it as well in dealing with internal systems. What I usually do is install the 7.5 client on my local laptop, usually the SP which corresponds to the SP of the main system that I use. Then I have a small VM where I have the 7.0 client installed. When I have to access a 7.0 system, I simply fire up my VM, and access that system from the VM. I know this is not really a good solution, but it is how we deal.

No, there is no backward compatibility.
You should always make sure that you have the same version of BPC (including Service Packs) on the front-end and on the back-end
