How to connect to R3 from an Applet

Hi,

Is there a way to connect to R3 directly from an Applet?

I developed it, and when it is executed in stand alone mode, it works fine, but when it is opened like a applet in a browser, the applet don´t inicialize, because it has a connection to R3.

Thanks in advance,

Paulo Benfatti

    Hello Paulo,

the applet in the browser runs in a sandbox and can only inizialize network connections to the webserver it was loaded from. I think that you have two possibilities:

    - You can sign your applet to allow more than this. The problem is, that you also have to install the JCo Libraries on the client including the RFC DLL.

    - Starting with SAP Web AS 6.20 you can call a WEB Service. With the SAP Web Dispatcher this Web Service can also access this Web Services via the internet.

    Regards

      Thanks Gregor,

I used another way to solve this problem, i´m transfering the parameters from servlet to the applet.
