Rule returns agents but workitem not sent to anyone

Hi guys,

I have an issue with a rule is implemented using a FM to determine the agents for the workitem. The rule is used multiple places in the same workflow, not always determining the same agents. The issue is that with one decision task (a simple approve, reject or keep in inbox decision step) no agents are assigned to the workitem after creation.

Workitem is created fine. I can find it afterwards in SWIA and it looks ready to go. I can even forward it to any user I want to without issues.

Similar decision tasks in the workflow use the same rule to determine the agent(s), often with the same expected agent assignements as the task that is causing problems. No problems there.

I have simulated the rule connected to the workflow task and it gives me the expected list of agents from the input data, I am giving it. I have performed debugging in FM during full process run (using SM50) and the code is working as expected, user ids are added to the ACTOR_TAB as expected. But still the workitem is not sent to anyone.

Task is set to general task. I have run SWU_OBUF multiple times. Always with the same result.

Do any of you experienced people have any idea what could be causing this problem for this particular workflow step? I would greatly appreciate any hints at what to do next or look at next.

When you are populating Agent in Actor_tab, please check did you populate user type like US, P etc

    Hi Peter,

I would request you to check if there is any filter Badi implemented WF_BWP_SELECT_FILTER for users inbox. I think the other issue could with respect to roles of the users. Please find out if the agents have the appropriate roles assigned.
