Approval Alerts

I'm trying to overcome a limitation in the approvals process: that of backup approvers. Is it possible to disable alerts to certain approvers just for the approval of documents?

Example: Fred has responsibility to approval all PO over $5000. Peggy has been assigned to be Fred's backup in case Fred cannot perform his duties one day. Setting up Peggy as an approver will inundate her with approval requests she never needs to repsond to since Fred is rarely gone. Can Peggy be set up so that she does not receive these alerts, but she is still able to open the Decision Report and make approvals if she needs to?

    Hi Randy Davis,

    Unfortunately, this is by design. If you want to add Peggy to the approval process, the alert is mandatory. My suggestion would be: do not include Peggy as approver until Fred cannot perform his duties. That will not only reduce so much unnecessary messages but database size too.
