Hello,
I installed the sneak preview of WAS 6.40 and things were going fine until I started messing with some userid passwords. I got a message stating that I need to re-start J2E in order for superdba's new password to take effect. Now I am getting the following error message when I try to re-start J2E via SAPMMC:
ERROR => invalid return code of process [bootstrap] (exitcode=66) [jstartxx.c 1350]
JControlExecuteBootstrap: error executing bootstrap node [bootstrap] (rc=66)
JControlCloseProgram: good bye... (exitcode=66)
Something to do with bootstraps. Anybody have any idea where I have gone so terribly wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Rich
Hi,
Please check the services to check if they are started.
Go to start -> run -> services.msc and start this service ('SAPOsCol') manually followed by the start of the server and the J2EE engine should start now.

I got in to the same problem and here is the resolution found.
1. Open C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\work\jvm_bootstrap.out and found whether it's talking about any database issues
2. dbmcli -d <database instance> -u control,<password> db_online
check whether it's showing ERR_DATAFULL
3. If, data full, add another volume with following command.
dbmcli -d J2E -u control,abcd1234 db_addvolume DATA C:\sapdb\J2E\sapdata\DISKD0003 F 1200000
4. Restart the J2E server.

Hi,
If you have your wireless enabled (using the same port) then you might run into this issue.
to fix this problem, disable your wireless connection and start the J2EE engine and it should work fine.
thanks
Salim

Hello,
please proceed as follows:
1.) Open a dos-box
2.) run this command dbmcli db_enum
The program should be placed in c:\sapdb\programs\pgm
This will show you the database instances installed on the host. For example:
C:\temp>dbmcli db_enum
OK
DB751 c:\sapdb\db75\db 7.5.0.19 fast offline
DB751 c:\sapdb\db75\db 7.5.0.19 quick offline
DB751 c:\sapdb\db75\db 7.5.0.19 slow offline
3.) Run the command :
dbmcli -d DB751 -u control,control db_online
It should return ok.
4.) if not please send me the output of the two commands above.
There is also a logfile of the database which you can take for further analyses. It is called knldiag.
It is in c:\sapdb\data\wrk\DB751\
Since it is overwritten in cycles please search for the word "current".
The service "SAPDB: .CSAPDBD" is the Service database. You database instance which belongs to the J2EE engine should be named like: SAPDB: DB751
Hope that helps,
Stefan Seemann

Hello,
ich had exactly the same problem like you.
Here i have a possible solution for you:
look at \usr\sap\J2E\JC00\work\jvm_bootstrap.out
if there is a message like:
Error while connecting to DB.
you have to start a service called:
SAPDB: J2E</b>
manually.

Alexander

I guess you've done something else too. If you cannot find another hint in the logs, your only way will be to reinstall, as this hint doesn't tell me muich and I guess that it won't tell anybody else much more...

Benny
