Smartform error

Hi,

I have a program which is converting SMARTFORM into PDF and sending it to a specified e-mail ID. However, when recipients get a mail, they can't open a PDF file and gets an error "The Japanese language support package is required to display this page properly".

I have checked the previous posting in this forum and to correct this problem I should change the SMARTFORM font. Currently, we are using Helve in smartform and NOT sure about the correct font!

Hello Vaibhav Gorde,

With PDF conversion in SAP with Asian CJK langauges, the fonts are not embedded into the PDF file because they would be much too large. The internal Adobe fonts are used. So you need to ensure that your Adobe Reader has the Japanese langage pack installed.

For Japanese texts in general, you should use a Japanese font like e.g. JPMINCHO in the form.

Hi Aidan,

My smart form doesn't contain Japanese text! and still I get this error. Indeed I have checked the posting below. This problem has been resolved by changing the font.
