ByPass iView server EP 5.0 SP 5.0

Question:

Can anyone give me/point me to a detailed explanation of what byPassing the iView server does? The reason I ask is I have created a number of iViews that use eventing. When I run the iViews in the portal under isolation level 1 any of the iViews that are subscribed to the sender load the entire portal page over + the changes into its iframe. If I set it to level 4 bypass iView server, it works fine....Any one run into this? Why are the subscription iViews loading the entire portal page?

Thanks

    Hi:

I don't the answer clearly, but may be found by going

thro' the architecture of portal components(help.sap.com).

We too did the lot of Client-side eventing and Client

data bag storage. I too observed that you need to

configure both Sender and Reciever of eventing, to bypass

the iView server. It was mentioned in some where in the

    documentation.

BTW, I have a question. With reference to Client databag

storage, did you observed, any difference with respect to

where from the user is accessing the portal ? I mean, when

a user is inside the portal domain, versus outside the

    portal domain ?

I made a post in SDN with the subject line of

"EPCM and EPCMPROXY API problem". Can you help with the

    problem ?

    Thanks,

      Hi:

As I mentioned in the "EPCM and EPCMPROXY API problem"

users who are not the domain members(their PC's) are able

to store the values and retrieve them correctly. The

users who are domain members when they retrieve the

stored data, it is being returned as 'null'. This is the

      problem.
