Active Metrics Scheduling in MII 12.0

Hi,

I've successfully downloaded the optional package, executed the DB scripts, imported the projects. Started to follow the Metrics & Monitoring Example.

So far so good, expect for the Scheduling part. The Example is for MII 11.5 as it mention copying files to the task scheduler folder.

What replaces those Scheduling steps in 12.0? If I have to create those manually, what Transaction & parameters do use?

I also note the this forum is very silent about Active Matrics. It this something worth investing time & energy into? How well will it port to 12.1?

Thanks.

Hello Francois,

There are 2 Transactions in the ActivePortal project root - the ActivePortal Mailer and the ActivePortalMonitor. The ActivePortalMonitor has an input property that expects the name of the scan group. 5MIN, 15MIN, etc. You would configure this in the MII Scheduler.

Active Portal is not used much anymore. You could do essentially the same thing by building you own transactions and scheduling them.

SAP now has it's Plant Connectivity (PCo) software. In PCo, you can subscribe to tags and notifications are sent based on conditions that you configure. For example, you could trigger a notifiction that calls a transaction when ever a tag exceeds a certain threshold. So now we have more of a "push" model rather than MII pulling the value to see if it has met the condition.

There is much information available for PCo - check the [PCo and UDS|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=163841050] on the MII [Wiki Page|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=163841050].

Kind Regards,
