0wbs_elemt description

Dear all,

The text of wbs_element is not picked up into the report.

Say for example there's a Zxxx-00013-01-1021 and it has a description in the master data as 'DELHI' then if I run the report with wbs element display as text its showing the same number not the description.

what could be the reason ? I tried many ways but could not crack it.

Hello Nagat

The WBS ELEMENT in ECC doesn't have language (language indepent), because of it when you load it to BW the descriptions comes without language. Salution for this issue, is write a simpe formula in TransferRule.

formula :

IF(LANGU='','E',LANGU)

that's mean : if language is initial put 'E' (English) else put the language value.

check whether the text to the object is loaded with language as English (E).

I checked in se16 with the text table,the object is loaded with the language (E.)

just a hint, check whether the key in the text table is exactly the same as the master data.Whether there is any slight difference.

May be the key is not matching corrctly or so...

And when you're maintain master data of InfoObject in selection screen you put 'EN'

You see discriptions ??

P.S: I Have same problem with 0wbs_elemt and I use formula (IF(LANGU='','E',LANGU) ) in transfer rule ,as i wrote before

May be for some record the length is more , that is the reason it is unable to show the whole text for all records .

In the query designer,Display tab of the characteristic try giving the text view as Long text.

OR

In the master data /text tab of the info-object, tick the long text exits and activate the info-object .

Activate the transformation accordingly .

In the business explorer tab,give the text type as -Medium Length text, and in Bex description , give long description .
