Confirm Activity & Forecast

Hi,

I would like to confirm, partially, an activity and introduce the forecast, the sum of which don't have to be always equal to the planned value.

For example: I plan 400 hours of work for an activity. Later, once the activity is released, I want to confirm that 100 hours have been done but it will be necessary 350 hours more to finish the activity (not only 300 as it was thought). If I confirm 100H as actual work the system determines the forecast work in 300 and If change it to 350 the system will change the actual work into 50.

Which should be the correct procedure?

Thanks

If you input first actual hours and then remaining forecast, it should not overwrite the actual. We do use the similiar function. If you follow the steps mentioned it should not change the actual.

That's the way I'm doing it, first actual work and second forecast (remaining work).

Maybe there is some customizing to be done? Any idea?

thanks

Maybe something to do in OPST?

Even I have observed this, If you enter degree of process (%) during confirmation, the actual work and remaining work are determined automatically, but if you change any remaining work now, the system recalculates the actual work. But, instead of entering % , enter actual work and remaining work manually, now the system saves the confirmation without changing actual work based on remaining work.

To remove the influence of '% degree of processing', you can make this field hide from confirmation screen. SO in this way, nobody is allowed to change actual or remaining by changing the 'degree of processing'. 'Degree of processing' is then calculated based on acutal and remaining work. 'Degree of processing' anyway will be visible in the reports.

Hi,

If I enter actual work and remaining work manually, the system stills changing actual work, even if I don't touch degree of process (%) at all.

So do you really think that hiding the degree of process field is the solution?

It is very unusual that 'actual work' is getting overwrite after you enter 'remaining forecast'. Are you using BAPI or standard transaction to update the actual and remaining forecast. I know about BAPI, that it does overwrite the actual hours when you try to enter remaining forecast.

Also what is the SAP version you are operating with?

I'm not using any BAPI, I'm working with ECC6.0 EHP4.

Hi,

I must apologize all, I haven't change anything and now is working. I believe that the problem is that I was pressing the return key after introducing the actual work and before introducing the remaining work. I must introduce both values and then press return.

Thank you all for your time.

what transaction are using to enter the actual and remaining work values?

Also if you enter both values manually how does the %age update?

You can use CN25 or CJ20N itself.

%age = Actual / ( Actual + Forecast)

Thanks and forecast is Forecast (ETC) = Actual + Remaining? As per this thread -
