Hello @,
after reading Vitaliy's latest blog [SAP HANA: What it means for business and for your career|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/22486] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];
I got the innate need to get some personal experience with SAP's IMCE (in-memory computing engine).
Does anyone happen to know whether there will be some sneak preview
on SDN available to download the IMCE software in order to experiment with it?
it would be a hard time to wait for the GA date in spring, maybe even harder
than waiting for Christmas. There is only very few technical information
available, and the download on SAP SMP is of course restricted to ramp-up
customers. It would be a shame to waste 3 or 4 months before we could
get the first real experience on the product.
Regards,
Mark

Hello Mark,
I know in today's times everyone wants things now. Not always but sometimes being the first doesn't just mean "playing around" but getting a competetive advantage. It's one of the incentives of becoming a ramp-up customer.
Anyway, don't worry about a few months of waiting. There will be plenty of time to try and enjoy in-memory technology (for the rest of your life?!?).
Regards,
Marc

Mark,
I highly doubt this will be possible. I think it will be more realistically become available to externel sometime in January. AFAIK the tool will change significantly in the next few months so it won't make sense to start playing with it now anyway.
