SAP education for MBA students without Industry Experience

Hi All,

We are introducing for the first time SAP courses for MBA students who do not have any prior Industry experience. Our institute is in alliance with SAP UA prog and we have access to GBI 2 at QUT, Brisbane. Please share with me the relevant SAP components we can teach them and in which semester. Just to repeat, we are just starting this initiative through SAP U alliance.

In July 2010, we will begin offering a new Full-time Integrated MBA program at Grand Valley State University. This program is specifically designed to (1) incorporate SAP ERP extensively in the core, and (2) provide practical experience via fellowships with local companies and an international internship. The curriculum during the first semester is based on our experience with developing GBI 2.0 (which we developed in partnership with Magdeberg University in Germany). This will be taught by a faculty team representing various disciplines. Students will develop a business plan and implement key processes for the business in SAP ERP. Hi Prof Nihar Ranjan Beura,

We use the SAP R/3 Enterpise Software: An Introduction (McGraw-Hill/Irwin) for our intro course with both undergraduate and graduate course. This uses the IDES client. I have use this from the QUT CC with a course I have taught for several summers at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology in Shangha. It has worked well. A second course on configuration is the Quazi Computer course, which is available in the UA course materails. This uses the Quazi client which is available through the UCCs.

Hello Professor,

Glad to have you as a new member of the University Alliances Progam and Community.

I would definitely recommend Introduction to ERP with Global Bike Inc. 2.0 and you can do this preferably in the first semester.

Later you can teach the ERPsim course - maybe also in a final semester capstone course environment. You should also look into teaching Business Intelligence modules in second or third semesters - Web Intelligence with Universe Design, Dashboard Design and Crystal Reports.
