Please.....need help.....very urgent

Hi,

I am very new to portals but have enough knowledge with web application designer. this may be very basic but appreciate if you can help me. could anyone please guide me into portal. i read portal documentation. I created web template and published an iView from Web Application Designer. now, what i understood is i need to import the iview into portal. can any one guide me if there are any steps. from the documentation, I see that I need to go to administration tab and import the iViews. But I anticipate that I don't have administration rights to create import iViews as I can't see administration tab in my Portal pages.

waiting for your prompt reply.

thanks in advance

    you have to create a package.pkg file, which is an xml file, and in that you have to define your <iView> and place this file along with .ivu file in <ep root>/global/pcd/import directory and go to Sys Admin --> Transport --> Import screen. There browse for the directory where you placed your .pkg file and import.

    For the specific format of .pkg file, check any existing package files from SAP 😊

    Hi:

    As you can see in Web Application Designer under 'Publish'

    various options are...

    --> in Role

    --> as iView

    --> as iView file.

    For preliminary purposes I prefer last option, because you

    get *.ivu file and you can directly import in to the

    portal with minimal effort.

    In the portal you need to have 'portal_admin' role for you

    . Go to 'Portal Admin' --> Import --> Select file..(Make

    sure you checked the radio button 'local client' is checke

    d. After import you can see the iView under 'Content Admin

    --> iViews --> BI iViews. Then create a page, include this

    iView in to that, assign this page to a role.

    All this thing applies only to EP5.

    If you want documentation look at

    for portal BW integration. This presentation provides

    examples also.

    Hope this helps.
