Obsolete parameter. Remove from instance profile

We need to install z1 language on a BW3.5 unicode system.

However when running rscpinst simulation I get message "

Obsolete parameter. Remove from instance profile." for

install/codepage/appl_server with value 4102.

(eventhough 4102 is default for install/codepage/appl_server )

It is a default value for server (also in instance profile). What to

do?

I need some confirmation to remove it from instance profile according to

documentation of parameter,

"Specifies the character set used by the system to store data.

Replaces as of Release 2.0 the system character set

specification in table TSYST.

Caution: Do not modify character set specifications without

consulting with SAP."

Where could I find this confirmation . However it is logical that removing would not cause any dameg is it not?

Hello:

In a Unicode system, this parameter does not need to be set as it does not have any effect. It does not have

any function within a Unicode environment. The kernel is no longer influenced by this parameter.

You can therefore delete it from the profile of the Unicode system without problems, just to avoid the confusion.

Désiré

Yes this parameter is absolutely invalid in a UNICODE system. The confirmation is mentioned in the sap notes below:

Note 1345121 - Profile Parameters which should not be set in Unicode

Note 790099 - R/3 Parameter Settings for Unicode conversion
