Remote Deployment

Hi!

I have installed the WAS 6.40 Netweaver IDE on my machine and I want to deploy on a WAS 6.40 Sneak Preview Server that is installed on a remote server machine.

In Windows -> Preferences -> SAP J2EE Engine I specified the remote message server host and port. I remember that with the WAS 6.30 Netweaver IDE I also specified the SDM in the preferences and remote deployment worked fine.

In WAS 6.40 Netweaver IDE preferences I cannot find where to specify the SDM and if I try to deploy an EAR I get the following error:

Mar 19, 2004 11:10:22 AM /userOut/deploy (com.sap.ide.eclipse.sdm.threading.DeployThreadManager) [Deploy Thread] ERROR:

Test.ear -> Deployment aborted

Reason: Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !

Where do I have to specify the SDM?

Regards, Tanja

Hi!

While I installed the WAS 6.40 Sneak Preview no error was indicated. In the SAP System Management Cosonle all lights are green for the J2E system. The J2EE Server & Dispatcher and the SDM Server are running and the database is online.

However, I just recognized that the J2EE service seems not to be available, I cannot access http://hostname:50000.

I had a lock at the console_logs directory and I found the following error.log:

3/19/04 12:20 PM com.sap.engine.tools.launcher.Launcher Error : current Java version is not compatible with the required version 1.4.1

On the machine there is JDK 1.3.1_07 and JDK 1.4.2_03 installed which is mentioned in the system requirements for the WAS 6.40 Sneak Preview, JAVA_HOME points to JDK 1.4.2_03. Where can I configure which JDK will be used by the WAS?

Hi Tanja,

we have the problem you described in your last post. Did you found a solution since March?

We would appreciate any help...

Hi,

did you check whether the instance of your remote j2ee engine is the same as your local instance ?

If your instance is 00 your sdm port is 50018. If your instance is 02 your sdm port is 59218. Same logic applies for the http port.
