Testing tool for GUI - Point of sale system (Retail) POS 2.0 Triversity

Hello,

Please recommend some testing tool to simulate stress test/Volume Test on .Net based custom GUI / POS 2.0 (Triversity) for sales order Process, Payment, PGI like Automation Tool:Load runner (expensive).

Hi Praba,

You can use the macro functionality that is built into the POS to simulate sales volume. To do this, please perform the following steps:

-Sign onto the POS.

-Run Manager Code 30 - Learn Macro.

-Assign a Macro ID #: user preference.

-Retry Failed PLU Lookups (Y/N) - user preference.

-Supress Alert Messages (Y/N) - user preference.

-Log Alert Messages (Y/N) - user preference.

-Run through your transaction set.

Note: Ensure that your keystrokes are accurate during this process, as the steps will eventually be automated.

-Once you have completed your transaction set, run Manager Code 32 - Run Macro.

-Specify the Macro ID that you have just created.

-The POS will generate a message indicating "Learn Macro Complete", and will then ask whether you want to "Send File to Server (Y/N)?. Answer Yes.

-Run Manager Code 32 and your Macro ID to execute this macro. It will continue to Loop until the Escape key is pressed.

-Please note that the Manager Code 31 - Delay Macro can be used with this process, to introduce configurable pauses in the macro process.

Thanks for your reply.

This will simulate only Triversity (POS 2.0) - only used for payment process here.....as i said we have custom built GUI(.Net based application)...do you think what ever recommended will simulate whole sales order process in GUI as well as POS 2.0

Hi Praba,

You can probably play with the freeware software called AutoIt. You may be able to use this to script a volume simulator.

Hello,

Please let me know if automation for regression testing is feasible for SAP POS (Triversity) QTP. Kindly suggest alternate tools available as well.
