BP_GEN not creating Business Partners

Hi,

I am busy creating Business Partners in BP_GEN and it worked before, but today I created a couple of test users for CHARM in both the Solman and ERP systems and tried to generate BP's from them and they are nowhere to be found, even though in BP_GEN I could select the users and click on Create (the system even says Created Successfully). So I eventually tried to create a BP for a user that have been on the systems for some time, and it worked!? So anyone know why I can't create the BP's for the newly-created users? I have logged in with each user so they definitely work. I am flabbergasted...

Hello Bernardt,

This odd behavior sounds like the users in question may have special characters in their name like '_' or '%' or '*'. So a user like 'BP_USER' can cause a problem. If this is the case then I would refer you to SAP Note 1413065 - BP_GEN: Problems with special characters _ % * in user names. This note should help with this problem.

Thanks Paul, I changed the users from CH_xxx to CH-xxx and now it works!

Hello Bernardt,

Have you perhaps compared the two users? Please check the authorizations / Profile Roles of the two users. Between the new (Not working) and the other (working) users. It may be a very simple authorization or profile assignment to get this working.

For the test users I have assigned SAP_ALL + SAP_NEW, so definitely not auths.
