customize the drop down menu

Hi,

I have been looking at customizing the drop down menu that appears when we click on the arrow adjecent to a file or folder. This menu currently displays items like copy, move, rename, add to favorites, send to, etc. depending on the context. is it possible to customize this menu. if so can some one guide me through this. thanks in advance.

The entire UI is fairly complex, be careful and make copies of anything before changing anything.
