Documents in Rooms read only

Hi,

We have created a room using SAP Standard Template. This room has a documents folder which is accessible by all room members i.e. all the room members have the permission to create, modify and delete folders/files in this folder. Our requirement is to restrict this access. We would like to give full permission (Create, modify and delete) to the administrators(room owners/creators) and give read permission to the rest.

Is this possible?

any kind of help/suggesion is appriciated.

Thanks

Smitha

At this time, I do not believe that this is supported, out-of-the-box functionality. When Collaboration rooms are created along with the room-specific repositories, only the collaboration service user is allowed to change permissions. Therefore, no one can really change the permissions on the room documents repository.

    Try the following workaround -

    1. Add an admin user as a system principal in the KM configuration and grant all rights to this user in the configuration.

    2. Navigate to the room structure node or the corresponding room store folder (with the iView "Content Administration -> KM content") and change the permission owner as you want (e.g. the owner of the room should be permission owner).

    3. Set the permissions you require for the room owner.

    Hello Smitha:

By default all room members have full permission in the created folders. To change that, a super admin or content admin must go to the folder / details / settings / permissions.

Here he/she can change the permissions for the group to read only and add the users who are supposed to have full control.

With the NW SP Stack 4 this will change. The room creator will then be permission owner and he/she will be able to change the permissions him/herself.

I hope this helps. Please let me know, if you have further questions.

    Thanks and regards,

    Tanja
