New license Key applying Migration Key

Former Member

Hi Gurus, I have a problem with the requirement of a new license for the Solman 7.0EHP1, SAP advised us to get a new installation number, sent us a new permanent license key and a migration key with instructions about applying the notes 816861 and 86161. Now our system is in the new installation number (Maintenance Data), but even after applying the note 816861 when we tried to apply the new license this is not possible because our license key is for the new Inst. number and when we open the Solman transaction SLICENSE it brings the old instalation number, how could i change this one to the new in order to apply the license?

Thnaks for your answers

Hello Paul

I think you have old entries in SLICENSE according to what you are writing. First delete all the entris you find in the table in transaction SLICENSE. Then the installation number field should become empty instead of being the old installation number and you can then insert the new license.

Kind regards

Tom

Hi,

we too went through the same situation, our installtion No. and License no. was changed due to some reasons.

but when we are started Support Pack update we have come acrss many problems.

due to changes in installtion No. and License no. we are not able to run SPAM/SAINT, the reason was migration key which SAP releases.

before facing any problem apply for Migration Key as well to overcome with such type of problems

apply the migration key through TXN --> SECSTORE --> System Data Changed tab and apply new migration key.

Regasrds!!

Hi, thx for your answers, all the licenses in my Solman are expired, so it is safe to delete all the old entries? I suppose will have to install the new license with the SAP* user.

Hi Paul,

If all your licenses are expired then you do not have any valid licenses installed on the system.

You will need to access the system with SAP* as that is the only user that can logon with no valid license on the system.

Once logged in with SAP* you can install a new license if you have it or a temporay license until you get one.

Regards,

Paul

hi

you should nt delete the active license, please first create temporary license (Edit- temporary License) and go ahead delete the old one and install your latest one.
