Together SAP Documentation out of date?

Former Member

Hello,

i'm currently evaluating the Developer Studio Sneak

Preview II (IDE 2.0.4).

Searching for Help on XMI Import/Export and Modeling

Support, I found a Together Documentation inside the

IDE Help System that was last updated in August 2003.

It says: Use Together SAP 6.1 with IDE 2.0.0/JDK 1.3.1.

The SAP Page (XMI Import) says use Together6.0.1 build xxx.

My Questions:

1. Do we have to buy a Together Control Center 6.x and

another Tool called Together SAP which is an Eclipse Plugin? Is Together SAP a special TCC Edition for SAP.

2. Which Version is the right one for IDE 2.0.4?

3. Which Rational (XDE) Version is the right one?

4. Any information about licensing / prices available?

Greetings

Ulf Helmke

Hi Ulf,

1) What you need to know to distinguish between Borland's different Together versions:

Together ControlCenter (actual version 6.0.2) bases upon its own framework, providing IDE, metrics/audit engine, layouter, diagram engine, J2EE extensions, pattern framework, template-driven documentation engine etc.

Together Edition for SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio bases as Together Edition for Eclipse and Together Edition for Web Application Server (sorry, wrong forum here to mention this on Eclipse (actual version 6.2).

2) For SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 2.0.4 Together Edition for SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio is the right one.

3) The latest one, I believe.

4) Please give Borland sales a call: www.borland.de

Sneak preview does not contain Together support. It cointains the plugin but no Together parts.

Same will be true for the product. That means: Yes, you have to buy CC.

You will tell Borland that you want the version for SAP NetWeaver and they will give you the right one.

One that can provide XMI files. To my knowledge there is no speciality in it.

The product is not out yet, so there are no prices available. But anyway, you won't see price discussions here at SDN, as this is something for our sales.
