I have a problem. I need to transform some SAP process in order to add functionality. For instance, i want to change the inventory search by adding a new filter. I would like to know if i can modify a SAP Form functionality.

as far as I don't know exactly how and what you'd like to "transform", I can just give you some general hint, how I did some similar modification:

I allways try to use standard SBO tools (like queries and formatted search) first, before I descide to do some modifications using the SDK. This is allways only the last solution if nothing else is possible and by that I keep these mods to the absolute minimum. Sure you can discuss 'bout that approach...

So I just added some kind of "universal query" via formatted search to the Item Number field in the item management, giving the user the option to search not only by different criteria (this option is plain standard in SBO: just try to put in the first digits of some item of interest into e.g. a user defined field and a star into the item number and perform a search...), but also by leading, containing or ending digits. So the users have every search option (or as you call it: filter) they can think of.

The only thing which is important, is to connect these searches to the item number field and no other, because it's the only unique one (primary key). Otherwise - e.g. connecting it to the description - may not the item of interest is selected although it SEEMED to be selected in the result list of your search. To get it clearer: May some items have the same description, then only the description is taken to the according field in items management, afterwards SBO performs a standard search and without a following star takes the FIRST match to the form.

    Hope that helped a bit,
