Future of Batch Inputs?

Hello all, I want to ask about the future of Batch Inputs. Actually, some new transactions don't support Batch-Input (ME21N, CT04, ...) and it's necessary using BAPIs.

Will Bacth Inputs disappear?

I think that BAPIs are really powerful, but sometimes it's necessary and more useful the use of batch-inputs sessions.

In my opinion batch-input will become less and less relevant as the applications take advantages of the newer SAP technologies (such as WebDynpro).

That said, batch-input cannot disappear for many, many years as it is used too extensively throughout customer implementations.

I agree that they can be quite useful. The key advantage of the CALL TRANSACTION variant of batch-input, over a BAPI call, is its ability to drop the user into the transaction if an error is encountered.

    Cheers,

    Scott

As I know in the SAP-RE FX (4.7) Module, BatchInput is

less important. SAP wrote many new BAPI´s and CT is no longer possible on some new transactions and I bet

that in the successor of 4.7, SAP Central Component,

the BI/CT is going to be kicked out.

BAPI´s are much more stable against Upgrades&Migrations but of course, the effort of creating BAPI´s is much higher ...
