how planned cost is calculated in network activity for man hrs

Dear PS gurus,

how planned cost is calculated in network activity for man hrs, actually in my plan/actual report S_ALR_87013542 - Actual/Commitment/Total/Plan , the plan cost for man hrs is showing too high figure. Iam very much concern with plan cost which is being calculated automatically by the system.

We have observe that the plan cost: activity price x hrs mentioned in the activity which is calculated is much less than the one which is mentioned in the above report.

Please let us know how we can arrive at the difference?

Regards,

ahs

    Ansar

There are lots of threads with plan cost

Check your costing / valuation variant and that will tell you how the cost is being calculated

Basically you are correct = hours x activity type price

Key things - cost centre, work centre, activity pricing, costing variant, formula SAP008 in the costing tab of the work centre

    Hi ahs,

Maybe there is a overhead costing be involved. You can run the help-transaction rkacshow to display the costs records of the activity. For the internal activity, there should be a or multiple records in COSSA & RPSCO (summerized costs for reporting).

If you can post them here, we can known more about the details.

    Kind regards,

    Zhenbo

As Virendra said there are many threads available on this subject. But first, open your project in CJ20N select the activity and press Ctl+11 this will show the cost components of that particular activity, start analysing from here.
