Hi ,
I have installed the following components:
Server:
- Business Objects XI 3.1 Enterprise
- Explorer 3.2
Client:
- BO Client Tools
Everything is working fine if I have installed all components on one server
But if I install the Client componenents like the Universe Designer on one Client, I can't connect to the BO Server.
We got the following error:
[repo_proxy 13] Session Facade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(Transport error: Communication failure. (FWM 00001) (hr=#0x80042a01)
I am sure that I use the right credentials. I have already checked our firewalls and the administration guide. Our firewall is open for the ports 6400 and 8080 (as default). The whireshark-log shows that the network packages are sent between the client and server.
Could you please help me?
Thanks
Alexander
Hi,
In your case the request is reaching the CMS as 6400 (Nameserver port) is enable but the Clients are not getting the response back as the Request port is not enabled on the Firewall
For CMS there are two prots one is Name Server port and the other is the Request Port, by default the Name Server port is assigned the port 6400 and the request will reach the CMS when the Name Server is enabled on the firewall but the Web/client application cannot communicate as the Request port is unaware and the firewall port is not open for communication.
for this you can assign a static port for the CMS Request port in CMS properties via CMC and enable the firewall for this port also.
Also, enable the IFRS port on the firewall.

Ramu.

Hi Alexander,
I had the same problem. In our case the BOBJ Edge 3.1 Server runs on Linux and the clients on XP Terminal Server. When I startet the Univers Builder, WEB Intelligent Rich Client or the Univers Designer I got a message:
[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(Transport error: Communication failure.(FWM 00001) (hr=#0x80042a01)
Then I had a look at our Firewall log and found out that the client tool is connecting to the server at port 6400 and then switches to port 52950. After we opened this port all clients are working!
Regards,
Armin
Forgive me but I'm having a hard time understanding some of this:
"For CMS there are two prots one is Name Server port and the other is the Request Port, by default the Name Server port is assigned the port 6400 and the request will reach the CMS when the Name Server is enabled on the firewall but the Web/client application cannot communicate as the Request port is unaware and the firewall port is not open for communication.

Also, enable the IFRS port on the firewall."
When you say firewall, what firewall are you speaking of, meaning on what server? i.e. 2008 r2. I don't understand when you say "enable the firewall."
Thanks for clearing this up...
