Inquiry regarding SAP AS 6.1

We are about to get our SAP R/3 CD’s; I just would like to know if it would also contain the SAP Application Server package.

Also, if it’s not too much to ask, can you please point me as to where I can download a programming tutorial on the matter?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Did you change your mind - 2 weeks ago you wrote you were going to install 4.6c ?

I'm not sure what you mean by SAP Application Server package ?

I guess you want a SAP Web Application Server and this gives you more options. SAP WAS 6.10 is one option if you want to start learning ABAP programming, but SAP WAS 6.20 is better.

If you want to do java programming I belive you can do something with SAP WAS 6.40 that can be downloaded from SDN.

There are some tutorials build into to the online help found at

    Best regards
