Trex Upgrade to REV50 problem

Hi ,

I can't find any documentation relating to patching TREX 7.0 with support packs. I downloaded SP50 for TREX 7.0 and started the upgrade.

But when i am using the upgrade option its giving me error that usr/sap is read only.

My doubt is that why it is wrinting in usr/sap instead of /usr/sap/SID.

Please help me with steps to upgrade.

From where should i start the sapinst.

Currently tried from /usr/sap/SID/TREX_UPDATE but its gives the above error.

Quick help is appreciated .

Dev

    Dev,

    You can find the TREX 7.0 update information in note #1450091.

    The note indicates where you can find the TREX 7.0 update documentation:

    https://service.sap.com/instguides

    -> Installation and Upgrade Guides

    -> SAP NetWeaver

    -> SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s)

    -> Maintenance

    -> look for the most current NW SPS guide (currently SP22)

    -> see section 'Search and Classification TREX' in the guide for the TREX 7.0 update process

    A couple of points to follow during the TREX update process:

    - Make sure you log in as root (UNIX) or administrator (Windows)

    - Expand the TREX update CAR file using SAPCAR in a new folder <TREX_UPDATE_FOLDER>

    - Launch the SAPInst from <TREX_UPDATE_FOLDER>/im_sapinst_standalone_trex/<OS_DIR>

    Hope this helps solving your update issue.

    Regards,

    Joseph

      Dev,

      After looking at your comments and the log file you provided, I would recommend to check on the following:

      - Make sure you log in as ROOT (UNIX) to perform the update (to avoid the 'Unable to set access rights of /usr/sap' or 'Unable to read xxx' errors in the log)

      - Expand the TREX update CAR file using SAPCAR in a NEW folder <TREX_UPDATE_FOLDER> (under /tmp or other), NOT located under the /user/sap folder path

      - Launch the SAPInst update from new folder created <TREX_UPDATE_FOLDER>/im_sapinst_standalone_trex/<OS_DIR>

      If you already followed all those steps, then I would recommend submitting a message to SAP support for further investigation.

      Hope this helps.

      Regards,

      Joseph

    Hi

    1. You have to use either root or TREX SID admin user. Donu2019t use the SAPINST user id. .

    2. when your are downloading any patch what its available in service market place -1( for example if the latest patch available 50 you have to use -1 like 49 or 48)

    Still if your are facing problem Kindly raise the OSS message to SAP

    Regards
